ORIGINAL: Wheels Reps: 1 to about 20 Sets: 1 to about 20 i understand the Find what best suits you
approach but for newbies who have only just started, they will want some advice as to what rep range to begin with hence the point of the poll

For a rank beginner: 3x10

From the choices in the poll i picked 4 x 6-8reps. Although my ideal would probs be around 6-10 reps over 3-5 sets.

If mass is all you want, then 3 x 8 is, in my opinion, the most suitable rep range.

None of the above. My sets total 2-3 max and reps vary from 6-12. Intensity of effort gets the nod over volume for me and I find if I give each set everything I've got I pretty much can't get more than 2, sometimes 3 sets. To get 4 sets+ I would either have to rest a helluva long time and/or keep the intensity moderate.

Try 3x8 (not including warmup sets) and adjust accordingly.

5x5 did nothing for me. I'd chime in with 3 x 6-10

For me 3 sets, usely between 6-12 reps on each. On some muscle's for example Calfs, 20+ reps.

There is no best rep range. They all form part of the puzzle.

As T0NY said. Not one in particular. I use everything from 5x5 (soon to be lower), to 3x20.
