Sleep problems. - 12 June 2008 15:27
What do people recommend as a decent sleeping aid. My sleep is often broken and I find it hard to get back to sleep once im awake, I cant honestly remember when I last had a full nights sleep. Are ZMA and melatonin the usual recomendations? Ive tried the usual herbal off the shelf crap with no real success. Forgot to say I work nights which obviously doesnt help

Thanks.

ALRI Lean Dreams is knocking me out at the moment.

I'm NOT a morning person...yet I've woken up at 6.30 and 7 two days in a row feeling fresh as a daisy.

Would this have any effects on bulking? Im guessing only fractionally if anything.

89p a night if taking max dose, 45p if taking min.

Melatonin is pretty cheap usually if you can find it (Astro). That's probably the cheapest alternative, though it really cant be compared. I've got some general 3mg melatonin caps I bought from the States a while back still in the cupboard, and they're nothing compared to this.

Wanted to know a bit more about this product. Like how it works etc? Seems a bit too good to be true, perfect sleeps every night, wake up with energy, fat burning, no side effects?
Is there no side effects so you can use it every night? How does it work? Why does melatonin leave you slightly groggy in the morning but lean dreams doesnt?

melatonin is dose dependant - i've used 3mg's and that helped a bit, but didn't really make me feel *that* tired. I'm sure if you used more it'd be more effective, but would also make you groggy as.

In terms of lean dreams, here's the ingredient profile:

Amount Per Servings:
Serving Size: 2 Tablets
Servings Per Container: 30

Lean Body Modulation Proprietary-Matrix (Oleamide, L-Tryptophane Ethyl Ester, Ziziphus JujubaPE 2%, Jujubosides, Valeriana Officinalis Root Extract, Scutellaria baicalensis Root PE 90% Baicalin, Berberine, Salvia Officianlis Proprietary Extract
Rotundine, Magnolia officinalis BArk PE 90% Magnolol/Honokiol, Piperine): 1100mg.

Other Ingredients:
- Microcrystalline Cellulose
- Modified Cornstarch
- Magnesium Stearate
- Silica
- HMPC (Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulos)
- PEG (Propyloene Glycol and Water)

In terms of fat burning, most reviews don't really rate it as a strong fat burner, and from ALRI's own write up the fat burning properties are more around you getting a good night's sleep and hence higher GH production. What it is really, really good at...is giving you great, solid sleep, with no side effects. Been using it all this week and I feel great - no grogginess, better recovery, easily getting off to sleep whereas before I'd be up till 1.30/2am. Some people (e.g. AJ) report great dreams. I haven't experienced that yet, but I'd still take it just for the sleep benefits, especially if you're going through more intense / stressful periods. It would be a useful sup either around exam times for students (cos sleep is harder when you've got tons to do), and intense training periods (when you need max recuperation, and over training is leading to fitful sleeping).
