Yes, the sun works well for bad jobs like this. That and wiping your back side.

Seriously tho, any motor factors will do.

I know a few people who own bodyshops who do work for BMW, Audi etc and to be honest just take your wheels to a bodyshop!

They will charge around £40-50 a wheel for a refurb/respray and make a far better job of it than you ever will, no offence!

You will probably spend a few £ on materials, and if you dont sand and paint them perfectly they will look a bit poo... oh, and the paint will then come off with the first pressure washing the wheels recieve! Especially as a wheel gets hot/cold/hot/cold with braking and then cooling again. This is why the finish on wheels needs to be A1.
For £40 a wheel or so I wouldnt even think about doing it myself!

but when the wheels are not worth the cost of having them done proffesionally, its not worth it, i just want them to look better as im selling my car, and i'd like to try and turn my hand at it.

I agree, these firms that charge £50 a wheel dont realise that the average alloy wheel can be replaced with a new one for the same cost. Also if i had expensive wheels, i wouldnt be getting them refurbed by some kidda in a van at the side of the road.
For the £20 that it'll cost you in materials, give it a go.

deffo worth having a go yourself especially if it's just light kerb marks,
i sell a few alloys on ebay and always try and refurb/touch up them myself.
here's a set i did a few months back, no before pics but it was the usual kerbing on all the wheels.

very easy to do i just rub down all the kerb marks by hand/dremel tool then use bodyfiller
on any rough spots , rub down and smooth out filler then mask off tyres and then you're ready to paint, i only spray around the edge of the wheels not the whole wheel.
