Alcohol - 12 June 2008 19:28
I've not had a proper drink in months, now summer is approaching I'm tempted for a drink here and there. Is there any alcohol I can have maybe daily which isn't too high in calories and possibly good for you? lol

Vodka with low cal mixer but if it's only occasional then dont worry about it, if like me at the moment it's a daily occurence and it's lager then worry about it lots

Lager is the most tempting but I'd end up with a super gut in no time :D

I'm not too keen on Vodka but it maybe worth it. Is red or white win a good option to have?

Red wine is good, a glass a day. But you'd look a fool down the pub with the lads sipping a glass of rose mate!

How many times a week and in what quantitys are we talking ? unless it's more than once a week then I personally dont think it makes much difference. Wine is a decent choice , again better than lager but still higher in cals than spirits / low cal mixer. TBh I'd just drink wtf you fancy if it's infrequent and if it's frequent then you need to stop.

Please please never confuse red wine with that foul concoction whose name I dare not speak

I thought I'd try r*se once and after half a bottle I had to literally run into the back garden to projectile vomit. I wouldn't have made it upstairs

lol

I have abstained again, am on a strict cut (strict in terms of no $HIT food, and no beer) but I will have on reasonable cheat meal per week (like pizza, cous cous, potato salad etc) and one night per week I am going to have a few pints of lager and a packet of crisps (the real things, not the TV program) lol - maybe two packs of crisps.

Apart from that, I'm finally back doing weights and cardio! (just incase anyone who knows my injury history is reading lol.)

I am now trying to go from tomorrow for as long as possible without a drink.  Preferably until October 4th (my sisters birthday) but I will break the fast if a night out

Haha pu$$y!! Me and the boys used to get 8 cans each and a couple of bottles of cheap vod, drink that in the house then when the minibus picks us up for town we'd have one of those mini sized bottles of rose each for the way down.... then shot/pint, shot/pint etc in town. We rarely remembered where we'd been or what happened!

Gin & tonic is about the lowest cal alcoholic drink you can buy, tastes alright too, refreshing

A glass of red wine daily would not be bad.
Or - a spirit such as gin or vodka with a diet mixer would be a good option.

When it's made with low-cal Tonic it's even lower in calories. Either way it glows an earie blue colour under ultra-violet lights (as found in most clubs)

Maybe 3-4 days a week, just sitting in the garden and having a glass or maybe 2 if it's possible with the girlfriend.

I was reading about them rose wines, how comes you were sick? because of the taste? Or does rose wine get people drunk quicker?

Vodka mix, gin and tonic and red wine all sound like a plan. I do cardio/functional strength training 3 days a week and there for about an hour and 20 minutes so hopefully it does not affect me too much
