Can you bulk on the atkins diet?
-

I suffer from a moderately severe case of reactive hypoglycemia and have had the most success handling this condition with a low carb diet. Although the frequency of meals and emphasis on protein lends itself well to training, I fear that I will never be able to bulk. I'm currently consuming around 150g of carbs a day and 300-350g of protein (plus fats, EFA's, vege's and fruit) split into 6-7 small meals. Considering the condition is effectively carbohydrate poisening, I wouldn't want to risk increasing carbs much higher (at this stage anyway). I've read that muscle is particularly useful in storing glucose and so would help manage my condition but I'm at a loss as to how I'm supposed to put it on! I'm 6ft 3, 155lbs. Thanks in advance

If you're eating 150g of carbs a day, you're not in ketosis therefore you're not on the Atkins Diet. Therefore, you should be able to bulk if you do the right weight training.
