I was passed a case study from a colleague today that basicaly said that Aspartate was toxic and in some cases lethal.

From what I read it seemed like it had been blown out of porportion but have any of you guys heard of this before?

Am I correct in thinking Aspartate is the 'A' in ZMA?

It's well known in the US, and most products there now will not use it - and advertise that fact. Hence why most sups say on the outside "aspartame free".

Over in Europe, we haven't had the same reaction to it.

You'd have to read far more than I have to work that out. Personally I'd steer clear where you can, but it's in many normal UK products so that's quite hard. For example, soft drinks in the UK have aspartame in but NOT in the US...weird huh?

Thai, I think your mixing up the amino acid Aspartate found in ZMA etc, with the artificial sweetner Aspartame.
