Feeling a bit low..
-
19 June 2008 19:23
Hey guys. Been training properly for just about 2 years now. I know I have made gains. I just find myself wondering sometimes if I'm ever going to achieve the physique I want. Has anyone on here acheived the look they want on a natural, 3 day split? Maybe someone might have a pic or journal that might serve as an inspiration? At the moment it just feels like I'm going round and round in circles and never getting where I want to be. I'm happy when I'm bulking but then I start to get bummed out at the inevtiable bodyfat gain. Whenever I cut I just look at myself and think how small and skinny I look, even though I know I'm not really that small at all. Has anyone else been here before? Cheers, RR.

Post your training up mate and we'll see if there is anything a miss. Stick your diet up in the diet section, some good guys in there will help you out. If your not progressing there will be a reason, just need to find it.

Yeah, i know what you mean mate. Its bloody annoying sometimes i look o.k, then other times, most of the times that is, i look and feel like s''t. its usely all in your mind tho mate. Maybe have a routine change, add a new supp, ect. To keep your mind fresh.

I think it happens to all of us at times, you just have to crack on. Ive been training seriously for nearly 2 years and I still feel I look like any regular joe on the streets. But I know that the difference I have made from what I was is huge. Alot of this game is in your head, the up's and down's. Try set yourself new goals and find ways to reach them, one step at a time. Good Luck.

Thanks guys, It's kinda reassuring to know that other people have maybe been here before. Tony - Tried to look at your pics mate, but it said 50 post download. Not sure if I've pressed the wrong button or something. Body4life/nightwolf - I think you guys are right, seriously. Sometimes I do wonder if it's all in my head. Sometimes people tell me I look quite big but I don't see it. Then other times I might catch a glimpse of the back of my arm in a window or something when I'm not really concentrating and surprise myself a little bit. I don't know, maybe I'm too critical. Anyway, enough of my whining, here's my training at the moment: All are 5x5 except the ab stuff Workout 1 Squat/Front Squat - 110/85k BB Bench/DB Bench - 80/30k's Bent Over Row - 67.5k BB/DB Hammer Curls - 42.5/16k's Weighted Hanging Leg Raise - 5k - 2 x 12 Reverse crunch 2x12 Workout 2 BB M Press/DB - 52.5k/20k's Deads - 135k Weighted Dips - 15k Wide grip Chins Weighted Hanging Leg Raise - 5k - 2 x 12 Weighted sit ups 2 x 12 25k I'm 5' 10", weighing 14st at the mo. I've never taken an measurements before, but I could put those up if it would help. I train on Monday evening, Wednesday Evening and Saturday morning. I alternate between 1 and 2, and between DBs and BBs. I'll post my diet up in the other bit too. Thanks again guys.

I'm not mahoosive either but I do find myself wondering if I'm ever gonna get that V shape or the only way I'm gonna get huge is if I eat big and just look like a knucklehead instead. I set myself weekly goals now. I think it's easier to achieve. Stick with it dude, find something new to do, it is summer and probably worth looking at maybe doing martial arts once a week or swim. Or even buy a bicycle or whatever.. VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE!

do you keep a training journal? this is sometimes a good way to keep on track and make sure you keep pushing yourself. its always good to look back on old body measurements etc and see the improvement you have made. its a long slog and to be honest i'm not sure i'll ever be happy no matter how big or ripped i get but i suppose that what keeps you going to the gym. good luck mate, keep up the good work
Only by going too far can one possibly find out how far one can go. Stats; 29, 6`3", 17st 11lb, 14%bf BP 127.5kg x6 SQ 170kg x8, DL 190kg x4, Weighted Dips +45kg x 8

I was in the same boat as you mate!! not been doing it as long tho, nowhere near, but what ive learnt is change your routine every 6 weeks and jus really push yourself in what you do, if you cant feel the pump , then push harder or change your routine!!! Took me 18 months to get from approx 12 and half stone to 15 stone 3lbs im at now lol!!! all natural nothing taken just plenty of heart andsome lager and takeaways lol!!! Just started MMA for cardio and considering gettin a push bike and riding to work, maybe you shud do the same bruv! good luck s33nyboy
