CUT THE FAT OFF THE BACON??? - 19 June 2008 21:06
When we cut the white bits off the bacon i.e. the fat, does that mean were left with a good clean source of protein which can be utilised for a bodybuilding diet???

it gets rid of a lot of the fat but chicken breast for example is still leaner i think

it can however be used as a good protein source yeah

couldnt go without the odd bacon sarny on wholemeal

As above,

you can buy the lean bacon that has the fat removed already, dont know how much protein is in it, but I'd imagine thre are better choices, but guess it wouldnt hurt too much, in moderation

Check the salt though could be very high and really shouldnt be a staple protein source.

...and nitrites.

Was gutted when I realised that long term high intake probably isn't good. The fat wasn't a bother though, so if you find nitrite free stuff, enjoy

What about Turkey rashers.... Are they better???

(Not the same as good old Danissssshhhhhh I know, but might be a healthier alternative)
