I reckon you should do something, to make it stronger. Nothing worse than being strong, but having a weak back. Do light stiff legg deads or good mornings.

my lower back used to kill so i didnt do deads or squats. I started doing these wiht a lighter weight a few months ago and my lower back problem has got much much better. Maybe you just need to strengthen it up like I had to. Just try to increase the weights by a few kg every week and make sure youve got good form.

I have just started deadlifting and squating in my new routine and am 4 weeks in, doing each on a 5 x 5 basis. The first two weeks were I was stiff as a board and quite painfull, my lower bck, quads, bum, hams. Now it is alot easier and have actually increased my weight this week by 10kg on each. Stick with it, no pain, no gain!!

Just an after thought, are you quite tall? Im 6ft 4 and this is why i think I find the deadlift and squat that bit more difficult. Both the excersises are essential in my opinion for the core and overall body growth.

im only 5'6 i quit doing deadlift because noone did it at my gym lol so i now just do WG chins, bent over rows, machine rows, close grip chins

but none of those hit my lower back thats why i was geting worried about my lower back being weak.

I wrecked my whole back and didnt train it for around 1 yr as i was waiting for a physio appointment but this is becasue i did bent over rows witha heavy weight on a smith. Ive constantly added weight to my deadlift and my back is getting better every week, i suggest you start to deadlift again you may have been lifting to heavy.

Damn so do you do bent over rows anymore? Did you deadlift at the time also? or did you deadlift after you got injured?

Its hard for me to sit up straight for a long time, my back start hurting, you think if you I start deadlifting it would get better?

Thanks

Na mate BB bent over rows are fine with good form but i did them on the smith thats what fcuked me up and i prob used bad form, use a bb to do bent over rows but not a smith machine.

First of all i hurt my back, i discontinued all back work for around 1 yr this made my back stiff as the physio told me because i hadnt been exercising it and that i needed to get it back into motion, so for the first few week the physio gave a sheet with a few back exercises on it so i did these for a month, they help loosen up my back as it was stiff for 7/8months previously. I went back to the physio after a month then she gave me core stability exercises and she told me to start lifting light weights for my back too, gradually i have taken my deadlift from 60kg - 110kg in a matter of 2 months or so. My back hurts the next day after i do deadlifts sometimes but its all good.

I would love to help you but im not qualified to do so i wouldnt want to suggest that you do deadlifts when it could further damage your back, a physio appointment may be a good idea mate, go to your doc and they will contact the physio department etc, prob have to wait a month or two for an appointment, i had to wait like 4/5months i think.

By sitting up straight do you mean when sitting on a chair and is it sore all the time when you do this?
