Works fine in my blender. Try a coffee grinder

You can do them with a hand blender too, but they are a hassle.

Why don't people just buy flaxseed oil. Are the seeds cheaper?

dont the shells just need cracking so the body can access the goodness inside the seed, all methods mentioned should work fine, i use a blender works ok but i need to shake it about a bit when switched on to try and ensure all seeds get a blast.

once ground, what would be the average size serving/portion (grams). I currently take omega 3 supps but would rather incorporate something more natural like these seeds into my morning smoothie?? also are they palatable enough to add to a shake/smoothie??

I used to use a heaped dessert spoon in a shake. It is OK but a bit gritty at the bottom.

golden linseeds or something similar sounding from Tesco taste great, i used to just have a table spoon full on its own, tasted quite ok, or added it to salad or food post cooking etc. definately cheaper and as already stated good for fiber.
