Arm definition
-
20 June 2008 13:05
Hi guys, Making good progress with my forarms, bi's and tri's. Only thing is I dont have great difinition just a thick bicep and tricep, is there any way of increasign the def, or will this just come? A guy in the gym said to lower the wait and increase the reps and do it at a higher tempo or is it a fat issue although when tensed there isn't a great deal to "pinch". Any advise appreciated.

Definition is down to BF I'm afraid mate. Which is down to cardio and diet rather than weight and reps

10% would be pretty lean and have you looking sharpe even in less complementary lighting conditions if you have reasonable muscle bulk

Just bulk up and cut next summer, as dirtyvest says definition is down to lowering your bf%, you should see decent definition at around 12% but it varies from person to person.

If you got big biceps then you'll notice a difference with only a few % decrease in body fat, you dont need to go to extremes.

Yeah if you have big biceps, triceps and shoulders they will show at even a highish bf%, mines arent that big so i need to get to 12/13% for them to show, just an example.

there are a couple ways to measure body fat, firstly using a pair of callipers to measure fat at certain areas on the body ie back of arm, belly etc but the best way i have found is an electronic device at my gym, simply attach one end to your toe and another to a finger and it sends an electrical current through the body and come back with a result. i know this can vary depending on how well hydrated a person is but its a good start!! another way is to look in the mirror and see the changes for yourself when introducing cardio and/or a new diet
