Bulk Supplements Direct Review

20 June 2008 23:10
hello all. was recently sent a couple of samples from the above company, some unflavoured WPC82 and some instant milk protein. thought i would write a quick review on the items for you all. i have used semi skimmed milk to mix both the items. firstly the WPC82. this mixed perfectly and so on that note it was top marks. as for flavour i tend to use a well known other brand as my marker for this as the buttercreamy taste i get from that whey is top draw. bulk supps whey tasted different from my marker whey, and though it had a good clean taste i found it to be a little bland in taste. however, it certainly wasn't poor in flavour, and if the price was right it would certainly be something that i would recommend to buy. with my other whey having a 10 as a benchmark, i'd give this whey a 7 on flavour. the other item was instant milk protein, something i know nothing about whatsoever. this mixed very well again, better than the whey infact really though they both mixed fine. it gave a really thick finish with the semi milk, so much so infact that i added more milk than i normally would use to make it drinkable. i had no idea what to expect from the flavour, but i tasted of absolutely nothing. it even seemed to dumb down the flavour of the milk, making for a shake that was flavourless. this was in no way off putting and it made for a shake that was easy to manage but once drunk left me feeling full and content, much like casein blends do. all in all i would certainly look at this stuff again, though i have no idea about its properties and its something that i will need to look into. all in all 2 products that would certainly be worth a look in for the right price. unfortunately i have no idea on prices for the items, but will mail them and ask them to look over this review and offer some input on their price ranges. tig

We must stress that our Instant MPC is naturally instant and has not been processed in anyway. We do beleive it's amongst the best MPC's on the market within Europe and USA. NeilD Link to our store is http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bulksupplementsdirect We have a large volume of reviews at our forum www.esnpro.co.uk just log in to view them if that helps. We are in the midst of launching our website rolling out our Blends rolling out a large list of further products; some being available for the first time in Europe! releasing our Premium Flavoured Whey (from the worlds top flavouring house) Raft of other things hence our elusiveness from MT as its been pretty much all hands on deck! Prices are at our store and rest assured we aim to price match where possible against any other retailer on like for like basis as soon as our site goes live. Thanks!

Yeah, I also got a few samples through tigernut...not all for me, some for a few of the guys i train with as we group buy in bulk from another company usually. Everyone was very happy with it so we have just placed a rather large order.....that should keep them busy :) I think the taste compared to the benchmark (I presume you speak of from other posts) is a little more creamy and mixes better....very smooth. SJ to be honest with you as far a mixability goes there was nothing between the two of them. it did have a different flavour though which i didnt prefer over the other brand. however, the differences on that front will be very much a personal thing and there is no reason why others may prefer this brand over the other. its very much a personal preference that one i'm sure you would agree. mixability and cleaness were all there though so the product appears to be fine.

I got my samples early this week and have tried the MPC. Ive been using all in ones MPC and used Myprotiens old MPC in the past so am able to compare. So I put around 400 ml of cold water, 20 ml of flax oil and my packet of MPC in a blender bottle (no sweetner or flavour initially), shook it up and drank it. First thing i noticed it didnt take as many shakes to mix it. Upon drinking it, there was a faint taste of skimmed milk and was much more palatable in its plain form. Then I stuck some Options (ran out of cocoa power doh!!) shook it up and it felt like drinking a milk shake. Overall I was very very impressed by it and price wise its much more competative then the other bulk suppliers. Expect a bulk order from me BSD on the MPC. As for WPC I havnt tried it yet but will do tomorrow morning. But my only concern with WPC is pricing compared to other bulk suppliers. If you can match it then you'll be a winner, and personally I dont see much point in the higher pricing cause of the extra 2% compared to usual 80% from other suppliers. Again I would want WPI and MPI from you guys. I've moved to WPI from bulkwhey but would like to move to MPI from MPC. Would be great if you guys can be the first suppliers to get in on the market.

I have to say that i did notice better mixability mate. a few shakes and it was very smooth with no lumps. I cant say quite the same about the other whey i have, although dont get me wrong..it also mixes not to bad.

right i'm scratching my head now so please planet earth, talk to me like i'm 5 or something. after looking at the link BSD provided (see below) BSD Optimise™ Milk Protein Concentrate from what i am reading i am a pretty stupid man to be paying top draw for casein/wpi/c blends for the sake of a bit of flavouring when for far less cash i could be buying 5kg of MPC off these men for £33.45 which i havent checked but might well be the cheapest you can get it for anywhere, mixing it with me fave WPC 50/50 and gettting pretty much the same product. i can buy WPC for £32 give or take a quid or 2, so thats £65 for 10kg of good blend - at the mo i pay £47 for 90+ which is only 5kg, or i am stuck with plain old WPC80. now i know theres an arguement for 90+ in that its WPI not WPC but personally i dont buy into it as making that much difference for the savings i could make. now like i said, talk to me like i am 5 cos i must be missing something here, either that or i have been binning money buying blends ready done. if i wanted to get real handy and i just might, for me 5kg of BSD MPC, 5kg of unflavoured whey, either BSD or elsewhere and prolly just a kg or 2.5kg of your favourite bonitronics express whey (and admittedly perhaps a cement mixer ) and you have a seriously tasty and cheap homemade(ish) product.

Thanks Arif. Yes the MPC does REALLY taste like its a milk shake as you have experienced; it's hard to push that point until people try it hence why we truely do believe its amongst the best MPC out there. With regards to the WPC, yes its more expensive but we had a choice from numerous suppliers and went overall on this due to mixability, taste, profile. However, the consumer is king with us, so do expect bulk fixed amount deals in due course. You will also notice the difference in flavoured whey when we release against us and our competitors, we truely believe this will be amongst the first REAL Milkshake style tasting Proteins. Again, we will send samples to put our credibility on the line as we have tested and evaluated the tastes to death internally. But as you can apprecitate taste is such an individual thing but we look forward to feedback from the wider audience. Hope that helps

Received 2 samples from BSD, whey protein 82 and milk protein both were excellant to taste and mix although personally im not fussy about any lumps coz like me shakes nice and thick! Hopefully you can compete with the other sponsored companies on MT pricewise because imo you have well matched em in taste and quality looking forward to seeing what other products you are selling keep up the good work!
