My brothers squat PB! - 21 June 2008 00:00
My little brother PBed his squat tonight with a 140k back squat, hes 16 and weighs 95k.

You waste a lot of energy by fannying around with the bar on your back though. Unrack, one foot back, then the other, one foot to the side, then the other. None of this wiggling about crap.

it was good, but i didnt like how much back he used at bottom of lift. still great lift!

bhamstaff- indeed i used too much back at the bottom, I think it was because my head wasn't high enough thus dragging me down. It will be rectified in the future!

when your doing a max lift it can happen a little, but you went a little too much i found and if the weight was ever too heavy and your back couldnt support the weight what will happen then? obviously you had a strong spotter and im sure he would of spotted you straight away, but the damage could of already been done. also best to look after your spine...

very strong for a 16 yr old good coaching big bro (i was about 50k bw at 16 cant remember what i was squating LOL)
bodyweight 70k lifts in comp snatch 132.5k cl+jk 160k
78k lifts in training sn 145k cl+Jk 170
front squat ATG 185k x1

Hardly ever, I was doing it once a week after my overhead stuff for a bit. Might go back to that as I think that every pressing movement will help improve OH stuff.

i was thinking the same thing, incline would be better though dont you think cuz when you do a push press your almost in a incline bench position at start of movement...
