Wind

Hi all, My wife has just had two discs replaced in her spine. She came out of hospital yesterday, and is really bloated. The doctor have said it is trapped wind, and that it will "work its way out" over the next couple of weeks. Is there a supplement that will help her "Guff" the wind away??? Thanks T.T.

Sorry I have no help...although something like Psylium Husk (fibre) may help due to clearing out here system possibly? Have you tried those things that get advertised on TV? Help with bloatedness and wind? Antacids....something like that. Anyways, what I was curious about is how you can have 2 disks replaced? do they actually take them out and put them back? I had no idea that was possible. Amazing if is.

Apparently the discs are made of a jelly like substance. Hers had dried out and crumbled, losing it's volume. They basically remove the discs, and replace them with metal ones. Quite a major operation and she wa sin surgery for 6hrs. What makes it more risky is that they operate from the front, moving all the vital organs out of the way to facilitate it. She has asked me to point out she is not old.... 32 next week...... The new discs only have a shelf live of approx 10yrs apparently... With regards to the adverts, they seem to be on every bloody day 6 or 7 times, but we never took any notice. Now we want to know what they're called, we haven't seem one......
