A decent guy from our gym was murdered by a little scumbag in 2001 - Troy was a good guy who I knew reasonably well , and the little S*** that murdered him added insult to injury by saying it was 'self defence' because Troy was making Homosexual advance towards him - ( absolute crap ) Imagine how I am now feeling (and more to the point , Troy's family are feeling) reading these 'further adventures' of his killer http://www.kentishgazette.co.uk/news/default.asp?article_id=43312 Unbelievable !

I think you`re being a bit harsh on the lad DR Z, we need to be thinking more about how we can help him integrate into civilization ( Just in case it`s not clear to some I`m being sarcastic) That`s a disgrace mate.

justice is losing its meaning you see it on the news every day..........the accused has 34 previous convictions ranging from GBH to burglary...... While long term solution is eduction etc and i fully agree with that a short term solution is more bars, more walls, more prison officers I personally would not mind an increase in income tax to facilite this

we need to be thinking more about how we can help him integrate into civilization The sad thing is...there are so many people in this world (at least one on MT too) that share this view

The sad thing is...there are so many people in this world (at least one on MT too) that share this view Unfortunatley mate the punishment these days does not fit the crime , and we as a society are left with the task of trying to integrate people like hime into society that is why todays society imo is sinkling fast. There is no deterant at all - asbos, open prisons, suspended sentences are just a way of leeting people off imo.

I have had a drink problem as you all may know by now and I never felt the need to steal or rob etc and never used it as an excuse for violence so the drink is no f8cking excuse. This country is going to the dogs as we pussy foot around these scum when we should be coming down on them like a ton of bricks. Sorry this has brough back bad memories for you Zoidberg

DR Z unfortunately too many of them don`t live day to day in what we would call the real world and I include many Magistates in that aswell.

Their every whim is catered for x2 Remove all luxuries and use that money to incaserate more scum bags While the death penalty maybe seen as a backward view in *civilised* society Bring it back as and use it on the part of society these days that is far from civilised

I remember watching an interview a number of years ago with a leading member of the NYPD who was playing a key role in the fight to clean up the city. His attitude was that his days of having sympathy or patience for scumbags was long over. His attitude was to let them rot in prison for along time as no amount of rehabilitation is going to change them from what their environment and personality made them. His exact words were "These people are wasting the fresh air that the law abiding citizen in this city is finding in short supply".
I admire many people for how they live their lives But the people I admire the most are those people who refuse to give up.

ORIGINAL: rambojackson harry potter defending??? when did he become a laywer?? He must gets dogs abuse over having a name like that. imagine being stopped by the police for speeding and asked your name! They'd pull out of the car by the neck and cuff you for taking them for mugs!!! I bet it would be lashing rain on the same day as well, not to mention the fact that you're already running late!

I agree, Rehabilitation doesnt work to my knowledge Prevention is the first place is better than cure, thats where education from a young age is important to give people a chance in life Once they have started down a life of crime it is had to come back as the number of habitual offenders shows

Take them to prisons in Venuzeula or Ankara Prison (Turkey) where the condition are totally basic. This guy is a liability to society, lock him up in solitary

A second chance for somebody who made a mistake, i might agree with, but this guy is obviously a danger and is not going to change. Honestly i think they need intensive psychological centres, where they can work to change the mentality of these deranged idiots. The only other option is to lock him away and throw away the key, either way, he cannot be left alone to walk free.
" Do not tell me to play the hand i've been dealt. To hell with the cards and damn the dealer! Any man can achieve anything if he works hard enough, and thats the truth of it. Go at it with all that you are, and it is within your reach"

DR Z unfortunately too many of them don`t live day to day in what we would call the real world and I include many Magistates in that aswell. At least in prison they're being kept away from us, our kids, our wives etc. Even if they have got their every whim catered for (which I don't think is right BTW) - at least they are not a danger to the public (except the public purse that is!). From the article: " That will bring you into real problems, because one day you are going to cause really serious harm to somebody and you will be in prison for a very long time and permanently on licence." WHat planet is that judge from? One day, in the past, he killed someone. Isn't that serious harm? How did he get of with manslaughter anyhow? "Oh sorry m'lud I didn't mean to repeated drive a knife into another human being. I didn't think that'd kill him!" Dr Z: You must be F*CKING furious!
