Help me set new goal.
-
21 June 2008 19:44
My height is 175 cm. I dropped my weight from 83 kilos to 72 in the last 5 months. My digital calliper FatTrack 2 shows as if my body fat is 5.6-6.7%. I personally think it is a bit too optimistic, but my 6-pack and veins are quite visible and my waist size dropped from 35†to 30â€. Now I do not know what next goal I should set myself, build more muscles or just keep lean. I check on one website (http://www.bblex.de/en/calc/prop.php ) good body proportion for me and see that my chest, biceps and forearm need to increase 4 cm each, but not sure if it will cause “maintenance†problems: my wrists are 17cm and this means I am small framed, therefore it is difficult for me to grow muscles. I see it because only after 1 week of holiday my muscles are much less defined. It also might be because of my genes – I am oriental, I do not remember seeing an oriental man with a lot of muscles. I do not follow any sport, but I want to be fit in order to be strong for anything: running, boxing, wrestling, hiking. However, I think each of these sports require different body shapes. What would you recommend me? I am quite confused and a bit de-motivated because I do not have a goal… Thank you.

Well mate, you need to decide for yourself what look you want to go for! Lean, massive, skinnyfitman. Once you know then we can help with advice on the best way to reach your goals! By the way you describe yourself it sounds like you look pretty good already. Maybe just bulk up a bit IMO.

Thank you for advice. The problem is I just don't know what to focus now. And to train without a goal is like a ship that does not know what port to go... By the way, has anybody used this site to check body fat percentage? http://www.linear-software.com/online.html . I found it, well, weird - Jackson-Pollock methods show relatively close results, around 5.6-6.2%, but others are very different figures - Parillo shows about 13%, Durnin/Womersley about 11% and Tape measurement 9%. Well, it does not matter if you do not care, but it seems to me there is too large discrepancy in results in order to trust any of these methods. Do you know which method is the most accurate and for what circumstances? Thanks
