I'm an ibiza virgin and have booked some flights for mid july just lookin for accomdation and it seems much cheaper to stay in san antonio bay than by the west end and that!

i've found some apartments located in the Es Calo area of San Antonio Bay is this gonna be really out of the way? i dont mind a bit of a walk to the bars and that but dont wanna have to get taxis and that!

San Antonio Bay is about 1 os 2 miles from San Antonio.

There are really good bus links at the start of the night but your gonna have to get a taxi or walk to get back.

I stayed there a couple of years back and TBH it wasn't a problem mate.

San An Bay is sound mate, it's not too far from the centre. there's not much happening around there, so you can get a decent sleep when you need one. not many shops, apart from the usual tourist £1 type outlets. there's a little ferry you can get from San An Bay over to San An that will cost you a couple of euros. jobs a good 'un.

thats the date i'm supposed to be going, although now DC10 has been shut i'm thinking of waitint til the end of summer and going the week it re-opens.

no mate they've (spanish govt.) have shut DC10 for 57 days, same reasons as last year, drugs.

ive stopped in the bay, hotel rosamar. i sweat pretty bad and wanted to get in the mix straight away so got taxi most days, bar for wet tops or no top then they will not let u in the cabs. havent got a clue where exactly you've stated is but it was around 45 mintue walk to west end for us. then again lot of people dont bother with it, so i imagine you'd have to end up getting a cab to the other side of the island

take plenty of money, its the most expensive place ive ever been. Im not really onto clubbing or drinking alot but i spent £1000 in a week.
Some of the prices were scandlous.
I went for the ibiza rocks, cant stand clubbing tbh.

I went in 1997 and prices were not too bad, even though i was charged £8 for a vodka and redbull at manumission. Would love to go there for a stag do but not for a holiday.

been ibiza 9 times now,went last yr for double stag-do(1 week),mates its very expensive out there,id book somewhere to stay as theres a very slim chance of gettin a place wen ur there,we spent a whole day lookin for acc,finally got somewhere at 11pm thou,get urself to cafe mambos/its set on the beach front,everyone goes there to watch the sunset its awesome,just take beer/voddy with u n chill out on the rocks

You can find many cheap bars in the west end in San An before you go out to the big clubs as long as you don't mind the "fish and chip brigade" but yeah it is expensive and will be worse this year due to the stength of the euro. I think vodka/coke is around €13 or so in the big clubs this year.

But hey I deserve a holiday after the year I've had so if I have to live on tesco value peanut butter sandwiches for a month after i come back so be it. Roll on Space!!!!!!!!!

Question: What is so good about it?

Is it the drugs or the women?
Do people generally throw caution to the wind and sh*g anybody - or is this just an undeserved reputation?

Guess it's mainly the club scene as clubs there are on a differnent level. Not to mention the traditional watch the sunset and chill for a while. I suppose a lot of people would go for the drugs, as fo rthe whole everybody is shagging well I would say that's very blown out of proportion. Guess it depends who you are?

Hard to explian really, when I went I just feel in love with the place, maybe as everybody is there to party and nobody cares who or what you are or where you come from.

Apart from the fish and chip brigade but you'll find they go to bed about 2am after they've had waaaaaaay too much stella or carling

I think what is so appealing (to me anyway) is just the atmosphere in the clubs, its simply amazing compared to back home. Everybody in the clubs are so friendly and easy to talk to its unreal.

As soon as payday come around this month im booking a flight there for mid early august for a stag doo. cannot wait to go again!!!

(however that is off of the sunset strip as i found that to be just like good old chavtastic stevenage lol)
