Anxiety with hang-overs
-
22 June 2008 22:02
Does anyone else get this? I never used to up until this year. Today I've been sat at my laptop feeling nervous, anxious and even a litle paranoid. I just worry about everything and even about problems that don't really exist. A few years ago I'd just feel tire so not sure where this comes from. Possibly caused by me doing coke every weekend for 2 years or so up until the end of last year. But then I've heard of others having the same issue and they have no illegal drug history. I'm even thinking if the increased loads in weight training are putting my CNS and causing the anxety. Do any of you guys have this problem and do you have any tips for making the experience easier. I know that come tomorrow I'll be back to normal and won't worry about anything.

Probably your body telling you enough is enough. Even if you're not caning it like you used to, the fastlane takes it's toll eventually.

good point. Some of my worse hangovers have been when I've taken cafeine tabs on nights out. I think I'm really sensitive to stimulants. Once or twice a month I'll have a cigarette when sober and I feel nervous for about 20 mins afterwards. I sometimes take half a caffeine tab before a workout if I haven't slept well and I then feel really slef concious and on edge chatting to people down the gym. I also feel strnage if I get less then 7 hours sleep a night. I normally get between 8 and 9 hours a night. After a night out I'll get between 3 and 6.

Yes, think I'll stop drinking for a while again. I went 4 months without booze and drugs last year and I felt a different person. People around me kept telling me I seemed much happier and approachable. My parents said my vicious mood swings disappeared. Sadly the negatives are starting to outweigh the positives . Shame as clubbing has always been a big part of my life. I've tried it sober, but its not the same

If i drink beer im totally fine or any pre mixed drink im fine its just when i drink spirits but def redbull is the worst

Funny how things like this appear. A couple of years ago I thought I was invincible and that I'd keep caining it for years with no side effects. My GP and mates warned me about things like this a couple of years but I thought I was invincible. Guess I'm just like everyone else after-all.

Yeah, I get this too now, just thought it was something that comes with age. Had a heavy night tonight and felt today like I was on a comedown from doing pills. Quite paranoid, and anxious, like I'd done something wrong and was going to be found out! I'd love to live in a world where we didnt have to drink.

If you've knocked the coke on the head it shows you have the ability to do it mate.

Some paranoid thoughts I've had have been very strange and worrying really. Found it hard to look my parents in the eye today, as if they'd look at me and know I've done something wrong, even though I've done nothing to feel guilty about (except getting p1ssed). Not a nice feeling I'm naturally quite a shy person around girls I don;t know and I found booze was a good escapism and allowed to be more outgoing with meeting women

I enjoy getting p1ssed and the things that happen when I'm drunk, its just the hangovers are becoming unbearable. I suppose thats the thing with any drug. There's always a pay back otherwise everybody would be doing them all the time.

Gin makes me feel depressed, other alcohol doesn't really seem to affect me.

I get really depressed the day after the night before, I just sit here thinking things over and over in my mind....for the last 5 weeks I haven't been into town or had any drink at all, I feel so much better, I actually train legs on Sunday now - my mate's just popped round, he didn't get up untill 2pm...I just don't miss it at all....don't even miss all those stunning girls walking around teasing the men
