when to start thinking of supports - 23 June 2008 13:36
I was wondering at what stage anyone would recommend wearing back supprts and knee straps?

I have heard alot of people lately telling me i should be weraing knee straps and back supports etc.. but i dont want to look like stupid getting all dressed up and then lifting weedy weights.

My PB's are my most recent lifts so what i was wondering is should i bother getting supports yet or should i wait until im lifting a more respectable weight?

nah, listen to your knees. Some need them with lighter weights than others. For some, the weight doesnt make any difference and in fact need the knee warmers for instance when warming up, and can remove them later with heavier weights.

Neoprane will make you look cool, not stupid. Try them on a night out, guaranteed to bag a nail.

I now wear my neoprene all the time, just to keep my back warm. I also tend to wear knee supports early on for the same reason. Veganlifter is right, listen to YOUR body, it doesn't matter what others think really!!
