protein intake - 23 June 2008 19:48
i was told that taking protein in the morning is pointles as your body will simply use it for energy - is this true? and also how much protein should i consume at one time as i was told the body can only use so much at one time. cheers

if you're looking to build muscle mass protein is important for the muscles which have gone without nutrients throughout the night

the general consensus seems to be that you can take 30g protein per sitting

some people choose to use whey protein in the morning to get it to the muscles asap

some go for a solid slow release source to see them through to their next meal

either way i would recomend complex carbs in your breakfast.. oats or wholemeal bread being popular choices

its the carbs that will give you energy
