Good to see you back in the Oly lifting Tom. I wish i had bumper plates and a coach to teach me these. Instead the facilities are being built down in Pompey the year after i leave

One thing i'd say with your jerks is you don't get much leg bend it looks like. Might be possible to shift a few more kg's if you went a little deeper

Thanks mate!

lol, typical aint it!

Your very right, and its something i hope to work on, i think its mainly a confidence thing with really commiting and getting under it.

Oh wait - are we talking the bend before leg drive or the bend of my legs under the bar!

The lack of bend before the explosive bit was because it wasnt really needed i suppose to get it overhead as it wasnt near max.

All the best

Tom

RE: Tom's Olympic Weightlifting Journal - 25 June 2008 19:09

Todays training - a quickie

Cleans
- warmups
barxlots
40x3
60x3
60x3
70x1

- working sets
70x3
70x3
70x3
70x3
80x3

hm... all ok - weight can go up

Jerks
- warmups
barxlots
40x3
50x3
60x3

- working sets
70x3
70x3
70x3
70x3
75x3

none of these massively difficult i just did not feel explosive today.

Then did some face pulls and pull throughs. The pull throught did not feel to good with the band, ROM was not the best etc...

todays vid - my god the pull throughs are a bit homoerotic, im regretting including them.

Thats great to hear

Maybe i will see you again at your bbq meet, i've not posted anything yet as i have no idea where i will be and if i will be able to make it, but if i can make it and i'm welcome i would very much like to come along again!

Things are cool here thanks, back at home for the summer - bit dull tbh.

Again today i could not get to the gym with a platform so did some OH work - which i a big weakness of mine

STRICT BB OHP
- warm ups
- 20x8
- 30x6
- 40x5
- 50x5

- working sets
- 60x3
- 60x3
- 60x3
- 60x3
- 60x3

I will use this as a baseline to improve upon. I not sure whether to stick to 5x3 and increase the weight or to try and get to 5x4 with 60kg next week then 5x5 the next. Then go back to 5x3 with more weight?

Any ideas?

Then did some DB pressing and external rotations

meh...
