Morning Fasted Cardio vs After Training - 24 June 2008 10:58
Right, i am starting to cut now.

Fasted cardio for 30mins at steady state works best for me.
However with work i am reduced to doing 30mins steady state on weight days straight after my weights session. I will try to get a whey shake inbetween.
On non-weight days i will aim for 30-40 mins running/interval.

So the question is:

a) Wake up earlier (comprimise sleep) to do fasted cardio on weight days & then weight in the evenings.

or

b) Just to the 30 mins steady state cardio after my evening weight session with a whey shake in between - this is the most convenient.

Do u think it will make much difference in terms of muscle loss/hinder gains/fat loss? as i will be doing HIIT on off days anyway?

Thanks

whichever fits in with your life mate, i am currently doing fasted AM cardio then weights on the evening as i'm on an 8 week course mon-fri, when i'm back on shift this will be impossible so it'll be weights then cardio.

i honestly think the split cardio/weights is best with a good 8hr break between but if it cant be done dont worry about it too much, both will work.
Only by going too far can one possibly find out how far one can go.

Depends on what your lifestyle can accommodate.

Fortunately I can do fasted AM cardio for 45mins every other day and then 40 mins after a weights workouts.

I read recently that cardio after weight training was supposed to yield superior fat loss.

Why would waking up earlier compromise your sleep? Just go to bed a little earlier the night before.

Fasted cardio works best in a low blood sugar enviroment so mornings or after exercise with this is mind and seen as you are cutting i would'nt skip on the sleep.
