building muscular size - 24 June 2008 21:01
i want to build my muscular size through a bulking phase i am aware of importance of diet and have a diet set up!
however my abs are not defined and i want them to be. so my bf percentage obviously needs lowering. Is this possible during a bulking phase??

its not impossible no but it requires very detailed clean bulking at keeping a smart eye on weight and BF-up to you if its worth it.
I would rather just bulk to give the body the stuff needed to grow then cut after!

Nah mate, not at your (or my) level. We either bulk, trying to add aas little fat as possible and then cut what we did add during the bulk.

So there are two phases...

Bulking and cutting....how long do you do each for?

So if i am doing a 3 day split routine, would doing cardio on 1 of the days off make me lose what i built up the day before or is a bit of cardio advised?

I guess i'd say i'm about to start bulking. How long should this last or is it a personal choice?

Up to you mate. I would recommend at least three months of solid training\eating. Or obviously until you have reached your desired size. And the same with the cutting. Look you can do cardio and still add muscle. But the whole process will take much much longer.
