Well he has 100% positive feedback, but only from 40 items. I personally would wait for a while until he has 100+ feedbacks at 100% or close.

ORIGINAL: Mo Hi Is there not some sort of safeguards provided by Ebay? not really. they say there is but there isn't. e.g. if you pay via paypal, paypal will only pay you back for scam transactions if the guy has enough money in his paypal account. do many scammers leave money in their paypal account? lol basically...no...they will try their hardest to do nothing.

I have had no problem getting my money back through paypal. Ebay is very safe as long as you do check the seller's feedback and have some common sense.

ORIGINAL: daveo I have had no problem getting my money back through paypal. Ebay is very safe as long as you do check the seller's feedback and have some common sense. If they're a good seller you won't. PayPal's marketing just pisses me off, since they will only get your money back *if* the seller has that much or more in his PayPal account. If he's a con artist or selling dodgy stuff (e.g. someone bought clen off a guy on eBay before and he kept changing his PayPal account - because his PayPal account kept on getting shut down presumably), you won't be able to get your money back. PayPal's terms state that they don't personally guarantee anyone's money - and don't have to because they moved the registration off shore a while ago, and ceased being a "bank" regulated by the FSA. This was alledegly done (according to some of the bigger powersellers I talked to), because it meant removing the FSA complaints they'd been getting. Worth doing your own research, but they do have very weird terms etc.
