Find a spanish person you can strike up a rapor with and help each other learn, usually through the internet.
My friend learnt spanish this way and spoke to her on the phone quite a bit, she's now very fluent.

I spent a weeks holidays in Tenerife at the start of the month, I was just messing with people speaking Spanish, had never made an effort to learn it before and by the end of the week I was able to have a (basic) conversation with the owner of a bar.

I reckon its one of those languages you could learn to speak, given a bit of enthusiasim, without ever referring to a book.

I got sick of it living in the Tropics. How about Urdu instead?

Go to Spain!
I live there and would never have spoken this much if i had of lived in the UK
maybe go to an evening school to learn the basics and rules, which will help you. I learnt a lot by association too.
Also get a film that has spanish subtitles and you can learn this way, start off with cartoons or kids stuff.

im learning spanish through AS levels, though me speaking portuguese helps quite a bit. Really fun, u have the whole lot of southamerica to visit and they all speak spanish (not all), + spain .. thats what keeps me wanting to learn, the possibility to speak the language of a whole continent! Also pretty much everyone in southern north-america speaks english, Miami and stuff. Its quite useful

To be able to talk to (older) Poles. Most Poles under 30 or so speak english to some degree, some I know speak it better than me.
