What exercises could you do with this weight???? - 25 June 2008 17:51

I have found two of these, they are both 55kg, what exercises could i do with these to put on big muscle???

All help appreciated, as i hope to start working out tommorrow for the first time since my injury

bit heavy to start with IMO! You can probably do some shrugs, and bent over rows. Maybe a variety of the jerk and clean (or is that clean and jerk?)

you could hold one or two if your strong enough and do squats. Also they will be good for lunges if you can handle the weight

Check out kettlebell exercises like swings, snatches, cleans and such lifts.

Farmers walks, Squats holding them in your hands, lunges, a whole host of stuff, just be carefull as the grip and balance of those scale weights can be a bit dangerous in the overhead lifts..

I have a 20kg one.

Anyone got an in depth guide on how to do sqats? Afraid of injuring my knees tbh, any tips on how to stay injury free?

there nothing u could use 55kg dumbells for just starting out. maybe grip training.

Would farmers walks put good muscle across your legs. Say moving with them to one side of the garden, setting them down, picking them up and moving tot he other side of the garden etc and repeat?

lol i agree. i would start of by body weight squatting then moving up to 20 then moving up to 30/40/50.

I wouldnt start on a 110.......
