I've just read the book crack house released recently, a really good read id recommend it

Anyway this has really opened my eyes to what impact the crack trade has on areas, stories about 15 year old girls prostituting themselves for crack, people killing for a fix quite shocking to read in parts, I haven't lead a sheltered life but u never fully understood what crack can do to people and how much money is involved in iMporting and distributing the drug

Has anyone had any personal experiences with crack, does it affect where you live have you been addicted ?

Apparently it was invented because the growers and dealers knew that people would be more likely to take cocaine if they could smoke it. I think herion is still a bigger problem but crack is a becoming a rival for creating misery.

I know a few people that have done a bit of crack.

They say its bloody awesome, better than ecstasy tabs, one of the best feelings you'll get in life. on a par with opiates.

They all say that theyd never recommend it to someone but the 'buzz' it gives is incredible.

It must be pretty good if people can ruin there lives over the stuff

However we all know what the addiction can do to you.

If you never expect anything from anyone you will never be disappointed.

took it twice, think I fuked it up both times, both times at the end of a 2 day bender anyway ... wasnt impressed but if done right who knows.

i smoked it once or twice recreationally when i was younger and have no regrets

i know it ruins lives, seen it first hand, some of my mates went the wrong way

for me i'v smoked it, enjoyed it, and moved on, left it, will probably never touch it again

and the sex on it is incredible

My mate was saying it was the best buzz hed had from any drug he's pretty much tried most things bar h, but from reading the first smoke is the best and a crack addict is always trying to re create the first buzz

I used it a few times. It's a very odd experience, well was for me anyway. I didn't really enjoy the buzz a great deal but as soon as i started coming down (which was about 60 seconds after taking it) i was really going mental wanting more of it. The only thing that could calm down the "craving" was either more crack, and you can see wehere that goes... or some heroin to really calm me down.

One of my clients yesterday was telling me in birkenhead you can't buy heroin on it's own anymore,. you have to buy one of each (crack/heroin) the dealers really know how to get people coming back for more eh?

i've been around it. In my area (Hackney - East London) theres prostitues / crack head/ smack heads on every corner. its not a pretty site and i have known nice-ish girls from the area get hooked and end up selling themselves. Its so higly addictive its unbelievable. i personally think its digusting but each to their own ...

another good book is Iced by Ray Shell - i minagine its the same kind of thing. shows the crazy things crack can make u do.

No idea to be honest mate. wouldn't surprise me though. I think something common is for a user to get a flat or bedsit or whatever and all their "mates" will use and abuse it to take their crack in. the occupant will then get a free supply of crack/smack off people wishing to use there.

Note there are also two sides of crack users, you have your recreational users and addicts. More people at from what Ive read and seen on the media are addicts.

One of the grimmest things i notice when i'm working with my clients is that the ones who use a lot of crack are constantly picking bits out ofd their hands, they seem to see bugs or little black bits under their skin and have to pick them out with their nails and end up with loads of open sores on their hands and arms. Did you get that?

What did you do to get off the stuff by the way? would be interested to hear how you beat it as i've never known anyone to do it firsthand. I jibbed all drugs over seven years ago but wasn't much into crack, more heroin and E's. To be honest, if i'd lived in an area where it was more available i have no doubt i would have gotten right into it.

I've never personally known anyone to be addicted only to crack. The only addicts I have known have been multiple drug abusers (the stereotypical user being addicted to crack and to heroin)

I've met a few who just use crack. They all looked extremely ill.
