Just wondering whether Anyone on here has successfully combined olympic lifting and bodybuilding. Obviously its possible. As an example, the great Gary Taylor combined bodybuilding, oly and strongman.

GT moved on from one to the other with great success but a BB diet on a OL training program wouldn't be advise I'd offer out TBH. I guess a lot depends on what level you intend to take them both to.

We you would be a jack of all trade and master of none. I used to be a competive bodybuilder but could not imagine combining with strongman. I know Jay Hughes did but he is exceptional.

Obviously its possible the great Gary Taylor combined bodybuilding, oly and strongman As Littler said he didn't combine these disciplines. He went from one to the tuther! Its possible but you would end up sucking at one, two or all three of em.

Mariusz Pudzianowski wouldn't look out of place on a bodybuilding stage (with a bit of dieting). He's a freak of nature though!

ORIGINAL: Wayne Cowdrey Mariusz Pudzianowski wouldn't look out of place on a bodybuilding stage (with a bit of dieting). He's a freak of nature though! He wouldnt look that bad, but would like like nothing compared to the best in the world for his weight.

Are you looking to compete? If not then I see no reason why you couldn't. As soon as my Oly trainer is back from his holidays I'll be combining both. Atm I train with, Monday - Lower OR Olympic Lifting Tuesday - Upper Wednesday - off Thursday - Lower OR Olympic lifting Friday - Upper Saturday - Off Sunday - Off Atm this way of training suits me more as the Oly gym is journey from where I live and I still want to improve my bench, get bigger and be stronger all round. I havn't done much Oly lifting yet but if they see good potential in me then I may train just for Olympic lifting only. You cannot call me a sucess though as I've just started out. My trainer who is 19 has been competing since he was 16, squats 180kg, snatches 110kg, c+j 130kg at 90kg ish. He does well in comps and still train his chest (benches 140kg for reps) upper back and arms directly. You could deffo confuse him for a bodybuilder. He's not going to lift for his country but I still see that as pretty sucessfull..
Age - 18 Bench - 95kg (at 62kg) Deadlift - 120kg (at 62kg) Squat - 100kgx5 (at 62kg) Front Squat - 92.5kg (at 62kg)
