100 grams of protein per day - 26 June 2008 16:07
what sort of physique do you think one could achieve with Mild doses of AAS - consistent training and only 100 grams of protein a day

when i looked at what friends(the average person) eat, they average about 50 grams a day of decent proteins

is 100 enough to grow if you are below your genetic limit

have you seen people grow with no protein supplements and a low protein diet?

do you consider 100 grams to be low

In all my years of bodybuilding I have never ever consumed that amount in one day. Probably accounts for the fact that I have not one ounce of muscle.

RE: 100 grams of protein per day - 26 June 2008 16:11
most say 1g-1.5g protein per ib bw.
100g is too low imo espesially when on aas imo protein should be even higher on aas to get the most from it. no one can gain muscle from a low-to-no protein diet, muscle is made up from amino acids (protein) so if you dont take protein you cant grow.

RE: 100 grams of protein per day - 26 June 2008 16:12
well its an interesting topic

i for one can stand up and say ive used gear - i have an awful diet - protein too low - and my training inconsistant BUT at times in the past 3-4 years i have felt in decent shape

although not now

but id like to know just how far one can go with 100 grams of protein a day - i understand that a forum cannot give me that answer - but it might help!

Protein does not build muscle. it only repairs and maintains muscle.

Yea, I can grow on a pathetic protein intake.
But eating a lot of protein really helps me to get/stay lean.

i think its best to take more than you need then to take less if you no what i mean. especially if someone is going to spend all that cash on aas your best off taking more protein just to make sure your taking plenty in.

protein repairs and rebuilds damaged muscles making them bigger and stronger over time, so it does build them

For years I total neglected my diet, only concentrating on protein in my evening meal, and slowly over time I grew.

I think between the AAS and training your body would eventually start craving the high protein foods, if you dont I could see bad overtraining sypmtoms develop very quickly.

He may be;

Taking in more than he realises

Be more of a fat burner, so his carbs are used more towards growth rather than energy production

Oooh interesting,
Well AAS and a huge intake of carbs + fats will probably spare alot of the protein one would consume. So this would spare protein (in comparison to say when we don't eat many carbs, so protein can occasionally be used -gluconeogensis).

However as far as 100g being adequate for all the bodys tasks, plus muscle growth? Hmm i've absolutely no idea but im sure there are plenty of studies avaliable. Ill take a look when i can, i'm intrigued(Sp?)

Ive seen people eat junk food and get great physiques, but they eat alot of calories - Calories are a big requirement, plus the mc donalds and protein shakes probably did provide enough for their needs.
If not, they still had awesome progress regaurdless .
My posts are all my opinion and based on current knowledge/understanding.

I think genetics and the way individuals process their nutrients ( efficiency)has a big bearing, hence why some have to eat a more than others, yet are still the same height size and strength.
