How do I keep sodium below 1000mg per day? Especially considering 100g chicken contains 450mg of sodium and 100g of tuna contains 300g of sodium?

You may need to get all your meat from a butcher's so that it's not injected with water & sodium polyphosphate/salt. Stick to freshwater fish. Fruit, veg, cereal grains, nuts & seeds, peas, beans & lentils should be low in sodium.

Reading this link: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/layne36.htm The reason I ask is that looking into sodium values for food, chicken and tuna has 300mg per 100g. That adds up to alot eventually. Anyway, Ive got my food prepared for next 2 days. Turkey for protein with brocolli and 1 sweet potato spread out through the day. The rest of the calories are made up from walnuts to provide the fats. This gives about 50-60g carbs and should keep sodium below 1000mg. Do I need to add potassium and vitamin C? Also, how do I supplement with dandelion root? Thank for the advice BTW

Use a low sodium water too and use that for cooking Have your sweet potato hot, not cold nor reheated Yes I would add potassium and up to 2g of vitamin C Take dandelion root as per the bottle I'm guessing you're carb loading now though - so you'll need an awaful lot more carbs than that. Rememebr for every 1g of carb that's drawn into the muscle, you'll pull 3g water in too. Not only do you need carbs to give you the fuller look, but you also need them to help dry you out. You've left your planning a little late really.

ORIGINAL: Lobo Im not carb loading yet. Im using the following 2 links (which are quite similar in info) and they dont advocate carb loading until the night before or morning of competition. So not planning to start carbing up till tomorrow morning: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/layne36.htm http://www.t-nation.com/article/bodybuilding/shredded_in_6_days&cr= Hmmm - the problem with this is you will struggle to dry out This is my issue - you have to follow one set of advice all the way through and not ask others, or it will contradict Hope it goes ok, and let us know

Sodium is only an issue the day before a show. Just stop added soduim and any obvious sodium Friday night for a Sunday show - keep it simple!
