25 Kilos in approx 8 months.

If anyone has followed or remembers how ill I was for a couple of years, I thought this may give some people motivation. The specialist I am seeing has given me the go ahead to train properly This time last year he weighed me in at 69Kg! On Tuesday I weighed in at 94Kg!! A total increase of 25K in a year, so I'd say muscle memory does work. I'm still not as heavy as I was nigh on two years ago but hey as they say, its the long haul but considering I only stepped back into the gym on October 16th 2007 I'd say I'm doing pretty damn good. Good luck to anyone who suffers from an over active or hyper thyroid like myself, you can build muscle, you just have to try, refine and keep working towards your goals.

Massive increase and well done on that. However you have not said whether it is muscle of fat (or what the ratio is) and indeed how you achieved this Well done on recovering from the thyroid issue Don't you get steroids to to handle thyroid issues?

What changed, I thought you were going in for the whole lean and fast mentality for Taekwondo? By the way, why the name change - again!! You change your name as much as people on here change their undies

I was approx 98K before a multitude of illness' started, supposedly linked to stress at the beginning of 2006. Ended up in hospital sub 5% bodyfat and a whole host of other issues. I have refused thyroid medication because the specialist who I see about everything believes that it will naturally lower as I get older. As for my size and conditioning - you can see my abs in the morning, which is good enough for me because having been post 5% I do not hanker for that look again. I have a bizarre goal weight of 112K, I am 6' 1" - a hyper MB with an over active thyroid which works against me, I am not over the thyroid condition it is just something I work with instead of against. Plus if it does go the other way, I do still have the option of thyroid medication.
