Ouch! That's political, but is a fair point. Mind you the French Resistance and Danish fighters killed civillians in explosions I believe.

Thatcher would be if she was still alive, but she aint a terrorsit so I doubt she will have a big celebration.

John don't bring politics into this.

You seem to have strong feelings on certain issues and have to relay them to others, even though it's against the ethos of MT. I'd rather you didn't

I like Mandela.

People came into his country and took over, they then proceeded to treat his own people in a disgusting manner. So he decided to take a little direct action, I have no problem with that. I like to think that I'd do the same

Some of what he and his cohorts did may have been reprehensible, but when you see your mothers and sisters being raped, and your brothers and fathers being tortured, you too may lose perspective, and commit crimes that may seem inhuman and morally unjustifiable. Only those who have walked in his shoes can judge him, in my opinion.

Happy Birthday Nelson

Equating Nelson Mandela to Osama Bin Laden isn't political?

Edit: Sorry, failed to digest the byline before hitting OK.

Its the fact that the media and politicans feed us mixed messsages that annoys me. On one hand we are told that terrorism is a despicable crime and unjustifiable, yet on the other a convicted terrorist is treated as a living God.

Yes, I agree.

That's why the media are best kept at arms length for the most part.

Terrorism is a despicable crime, but the fear of terrorism has made quite a few of society's 'elite' even more fantastically wealthy and powerful than they already were.

The media forgot when his birthday is then. I wouldn't be pleased if I was him.
