 first time training my legs, need help guys

first time training my legs, need help guys - 29 June 2008 18:27
I have never trained my legs before and I intend to break myself in this evening. What are the best exercises to do to put mass on my legs? I would feel sketchy doing squats with a barbell simply because I have no spotter and i have never done them before.

How should i go about doing my first leg workout? Any tips on preventing strain on my knees?

I must ad i only have free weights, barbell and dumbells. I really do want big legs, where do i start?

you need to squat (smith machine if you have no spot)

Get in a power rack, use an empty bar to warm up, squat down and find your level, set the safeties just below that level and take it steady the first few sessions. If there are no mirrors ask someone to see if you are going to the correct depth. Don't push it to far yet; get the technique right and the weight will follow.

Keep it simple at first and add exercises as you progress.

if you got no1 to spot then front sqaut and deadlift

Get My Lifts back to where they were with good form.

As your just starting out you need to be squating very light to get your form right anyway. Just squat with the bar then if you want to go heavier, power clean the bar+weight up onto your shoulders and front squat.
Age - 18
Bench - 95kg (at 63kg)
Deadlift - 120 (at 63kg)
Front Squat - 92.5kg (at 62kg)

i agree with the others, get squating, startlight and build the weight up slowly making sure you get good form and depth. also throw in some BB/DB lunges and single leg squats to get a good burn on.
limitation is a choice, i choose to be limitless.

I am in agreement with the deadlift idea, since doing deads my legs have grown
