apparently mkike ashley has held initial talks with a financial group from New York, wants to seel the club for approx £420 mil/..... he bought it for £135 mil..has pumped in an apparent £100 mil, and wants an alsmot £200 mil profit on it?? eh?? wheres he gettin his figures from????
i think he realised he was in too deep... wanted t start slappin wage caps on the players etc and realised that the toon are gonna need a sh*t ton of his money to turn them into a decent side again!!!

yeah i agree but £200 mil profit... he's only been there a yr!!
hes does need t re coup the money he spent since been there but this seems very extreme!!!
the squad cant be worht much at all.. and as for wages.. well they wont be payin that much t be honest!!
only high earners will be owen and possibly viduka/smith.. and even then ur lookin at 50 k a week etc... maybe more for owen!!

His valuation is a polite way of saying feck off. At £100m more than the NY firm were offering, it's a figure pretty much plucked out of the air. Yes everything has a price, £200m profit seems fair to me, only a fool would say no to that amount of profit in a year, but I think the figure was mooted because he knew they'd baulk at that one. If he was so desperate to sell, why did he not take the £320m offered by the NY firm?

Good ol' Sun newspaper, pitching it as the club being sold. Idiots. The London press have been frustrated now the club has been straightened out. Not one paper got the signing of the Argentine winger. So a slight sniff like this gets their knickers all damp, with a very weak and poor effort at rumour mongering.

I only care about results. Sam Allardyce was more successful at Newcastle than Kevin Keegan has been so far in his 2nd spell in charge.

Sam Allardyce had superior win percentage so according to thel available statistics he would have finished higher in the table had he been in charge for the entire season.

Keegan was a poor choice, as reflected in the poor results and he will not be at Newcastle for much longer if they have genuine desire to become a top 8 club.

we were clueless... the team going forward was abysmal and at the back we were horrific!

and if you are referring to statistics for an indication of a good manager then keegan qualifies... a win percentage of over 50% throughout his career... allardyce managed 33% at newcastle
