Quality replacement for Maximuscle cyclone
-
04 July 2008 19:53
I have decided I have had enough of tghe high cost of maximuscle, so I need a quality replacement for my cyclone. I have found it a really really good product and I will be sorry to see it go but I am sure there must be good equivelents out there. I have only ever used this protein so not sure what else works for me. I like the fact that it has nearly 50 g of whey protein per serving, is very low in carbs and fats and has all of the amino acids etc, so I would like something in the same vein. Please help as my girlfriend is moaning at the cost of my suppliments

Try the myprotein version, called hurricane I think. Dont look at the protein per serving too much, some supps you end up scooping 70grams per serving and others 40. Look at the values per 100grams to compare products.

anyone tried 'true whey' from MP. looks good to me might be a good replacement, Saffaboy just looked at the hurricane and it contains carbs as well so its more of a meal replacement mate.

Maximuscle cyclone well expensive you get hardly no servings its a rip off. I was using it for few weeks while back but never again with the cost of the stuff. Im now using Myprotein unflavoured impact whey, Creatine mono and glutamine good value and loads of servings.
myprotein unflavoured whey 4.54kg myprotein Glutamine 100% 1kg I use milkshake powder nesquik for flavouring supplements tesco multi vitamins and minerals a to z holland&barret glucosamine sulphate tesco omega 3

Its an all in one. With creatine and Glutamine. If you want the same set up as cyclone then buy all the supps seperately from myprotein and mix them when you drink them! I do that. One scoop protein, 5gr creatine and 5gr glutamin. But then again, carbs arnt all bad! Specially before and after workouts.

I dont think you can beat propeptide and a decent creatine. I think the cyclone doesn't last long,is overpriced and doesn't taste great [imo]

lol! The funny thing is that each of those downsides you.ve attributed to Cyclone can quite easily be said to be applicable to Pro peptide. Over priced, very few servings and hardly a fore runner in any taste stakes in my opinion. With it essentially being a blend (albeit a very good one) it is therefore neither a like for like product that can be compared with Cyclone. IME having tried a multitude of products within the last few months, one of the best on the market right now to compare to Cyclone is Phd's Synergy Iso-7. Very similar ingredient spec but with more servings per tub and a hell of a better taste in all flavours. Just mx opinion of course! :)

True Whey looks a cracking product tho, much better than the rest of their mp max range imo, less carbs and fat and a better allround profile!

id just get the seperate components ands take the ones you need. ive tried cyclone when they d ran out of standard protien at my gym and don't get me wrong i actually like the taste of it which is rare with protien drinks. but i was getting it at discounted rate hugely i might add. the big problem i see with it im not sure what its for: it seems to leave you a bit bloated so you can't have it before you train as you normally would with some creatine mono like cell tech or blast. its got to much fat in it to be used as a post workout shake i prefer either pro- recover or powerbeck s egg milk and whey. you could use it as an MRP drink i suppose but it would depend on how many your intending to replace, i can;t remember how much creatine the stuff has in but i wouldn't recommend going much over 10g a day, that and i don't remember it having a decent vitamin profile in which IMO you want in am MRP - id go for MET RX sachets here there is simply not enough kcals to use it as a weight gainer. im not just having a go at cyclone i think all of these all-in-one's are a waste of time. choose your goal and get the individual supps that are going to help you and introduce them when you need them.
the gym is like women - takes up all your time, energy and money if you let it.
