Pain round your ribs? Do you mean like stitch? What's your pre-game fuelling like?

How long do you give it between eating and training? It should be at least an hour minimum. If you're worried you haven't enough energy on board, don't think stuffingyour face will help. Try an electrolyte drink or what i use is an EnergyGel Sachet which are life savers in training to be honest.

They provide your body with energy, fast and slow releasing and some of them contain caffeine for that extra kick. But they're easy to carry and easy to eat. Porridge aint something i would eat before a football game or any training as it takes forever to digest and is designed to release energy very slowly. Something a bit lighter like scrambled egg on toast with an isotonic drink (2 parts water 1 part orange juice).

ORIGINAL: lillazyee cool, i will try on sunday, where can i get energygel from? and is it ok to take it while drinking lucozade sport drink? It would be pointless IMO. They are both glucose-electrolyte drinks. Oats are good, but be sure to eat them about 1.5 hours before the game, that way they will not still be in the stomach. You want fast carbs directly before the game, lucozade is good. If it gives you cramps, try having it 15 minutes before the game, instead of straight before.

No you neddn't do that, just make sure you're plenty hydrated before kick off, have one of those gels about 20mins before. You can neck a lucozade at half time. www.harris-active.co.uk
