Whey Protein and Weight loss? - 06 July 2008 01:49
Whilst trying to lose body fat, is it better to cut down on my daily Protein shakes?

I only add water to my whey protein at the minute.

yeah no problem there
shakes are pretty much all protein no carbs so cutting down would only lower protein intake.

Factor them into your daily diet intake and then no problem

Nope.

Keep the protein high as it will help you keep muscle and reduce hunger.

It's neither better nor worse based on just that question .....it's all down to overall diet and your calorie intake/expediture.

PB's (88kg-natural)
Squat - 135kg
Bench - 125kg x 2
Deadlift - 230kg

I vary it day to day, Day 1 = Whey Protein with Peanut Butter and some oats for breakfast Day 2 = Scrambled egg whites and mushrooms on 1 piece of Burgen Bread. Day 3 - back to whey.

Same for evening snack, if i had whey for break, proper meal (Salmon / Chicken with veg) for Dinner and vice versa. I look forward to my shakes though, love Vanilla Boditronics with Peanut Butter... too nice.
