Chest excercise
-
08 July 2008 07:38
I have been training for many years now, and only just found out that when doing chest excercises my position was wrong, not majorly but I was not getting the full peotential of a push. After realising this I did a bit of studying and came accross some information that tells you to try and keep your shoulder blades together. Tried it last night and my chest is sore this morning, which I havent had for a while, which is good. Just cant wait to see if i get better results now.

Good stuff mate. Its amazing how many people don't concentrate on form and just think that flinging heavy weights up and down will turn them into a monster.

try and get someone knowledgeable to take a look at your form. a couple of years ago i had a pro put me through a workout and exercises like press down and shrug, which i thought i was doing fine, with just little changes were so much better, really opened my eyes.

Nice one! Also, if you want a massive chest, with insane DOMS, then do super slow reps on hest day for a few weeks. Chest responds best to slower reps IME.
Nothing contributes so much to tranquilizing the mind as a steady purpose - a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye.

One thing ive found that seems to have made a difference for me was doing more chest exercises in general. Was doing BB Bench and then incline DB press on my chest days but have since added machine press to these as well and some press ups. Also trying to slow the reps down slightly and maintain my form slightly better (holding the weight at the bottom of a rep for a couple of seconds before pushing up also). Feel like ive worked it much harder as a result.
Age: 24 Weight: Was 12.5 following bulk (up from original weight of 10.5). Currently 12 stone (cutting). Height: 6"1' **Cutting** "Success is in the mind, believe you are the best and then make sure that you are." - Bill Shankly.
