Lack of a gym - 08 July 2008 09:31
Hi there, I've just bought some free weights from an online store. I thought they were pretty reasonable at £25 quid including delivery.

They are 18kg dumbbells that you can adjust. - This is pretty good as when I last left the gym I was doing bicep curls on 3 sets of 12 on - 22kg

I've recently moved to London and as I'm with a company that gives me a good gym discount at a good gym as part of being part of the company i'm holding out till this kicks (1 1/2 months time).

Untill then - London prices are pretty crazy and I don't wanna get tied into a contract in a gym I'm not gonna be at long. I really don't mind the the spit and sawdust gyms (prefer them actually) but can't seem to find any round here.

I have developed a good training program for myself from my last length of time in the gym but need to get damn well started again!! But have been out of action due to the move etc. for about 3 months now!! :(

I have been writing what I've been up to on my blog (in my signature) but its running in the park and pull ups and sit ups etc...

Also the weights I bought I've put a link on my blog, wouldn't mind some feedback on what you guys think.

Cheers.

Two months? Dumbells are more than enough until then. Them combined with bodyweight training you can train your whole body.

There are so many things that you can do mate. Id recommend writing up 2 circuits, A and B, and alternating between them ie

week 1- A, B, A

week 2- B, A, B

An example circuit could be-

BW press ups x 25
Bent over row x 15
Dumbell squat x 50
Shoulder press x 15

For 3-4 rounds. Try looking in newest pages of Boar's journal in the progress journals section for some other ideas, I saw the outline of the '300' workout in there the other day, could be right up your street!
42.5kg to go.
