Bike Cardio Advice - 08 July 2008 12:59
Hi guys,

Just bought a York C201 exercise bike and am currently doing 30 mins a day, 6 days a week. I've invested in a Polar heart rate monitor and use the "own zone" to maintain a heart rate fat burning band. I'm 5'8" and 12 stone 6 and looking to reduce body fat and get back to just under 11.5 stone.

I stretch for a couple of minutes, warm up and keep within the heart rate bands given by the monitor, which are usually in the region 135-150 BPM for 30 mins before warming down and then stretching. On 3 days I also sprint for 30 seconds every 3 minutes before going back to normal pace (just to mix it up a bit).

Does that sound like a decent routine for weight/fat loss or should I mix it up a bit with the programmes that are on the bike?

Any advice would be appreciated.
