POST OPERATIVE RECOVERY - 08 July 2008 18:12
Folks I popped my shoulder out in the gym whilst benching. I transpired I had did some serious damage and required a 'shouler stabilisation' procedure. The result is my surgeon has fixed it with three screws and reattached the shoulder....but requested that I refrain from bench pressing and flies or any other exercise where my arm is 'hyper extended' or stressed....basically it should not go back beyond itself.

Does anyone have any good chest exercises that could replace bencing/ flies?

ps - he is the surgeon for the national rugby team and says there are still plenty of exercises I can do that will build my pecs allegedy ! Apparenlty plenty of sports people get this op done and return to full training (with out bench pressing).

cheers

pps - any suggestions as to what SHOULDR exercises I can use in the future to build my shoudler again and strengthen it? Obviously my physion will help over the weeks as well but her exercises are basically designed to get my shoudler workable....
