I know i shouldnt do flat bench as i get a bad shoulder, but for some reason my ego just wont take this fact.

Anyone else in a similar position?

try doing them on a slight incline, just 5 degrees or so, i know a few people with shoulder problems that find that little bit of an angle really helps

I been reading this all over the board but strangely my RC injury will only allow me to flat bench, any incline is agony!

stop doing bench mate, you only get one set of shoulders, mess them up and you will be in pain for the rest of your life. you could try some joint supp like protect, they will help longer term, but immediately you need to prevent any further damage.

Nope.
Nothing contributes so much to tranquilizing the mind as a steady purpose - a point on which the soul may fix its intellectual eye.

Switch to dumbbells.....IMO, much more effective as a chest exercise. Although the flat barbell bench press is essential if you are a powerlifter.

Cheers lads, i am slowly admitting that flat bb bench has to be dropped, at least with any real weight on the bar anyhow.

There's always an alternative. WG dips are ace for chest mass.
