Advice on training & Supplements please - 08 July 2008 20:24
Hi all, first post on the forum. after a bit of advice on my training. ive been training at home now for about 6 month but with no real structure.

my typical weights session is
5 x 10 50kg bench press (started at about 40kg)
10 x 100 sit ups on a swiss ball
5 x 10 arm curls on each arm 17.5 kg (started about 12.5kg).
i also play 5 a side at least twice a week aswel as squash.

im 25, 12 st 4 (lost 2 stone before starting the weights) and taking a protien shake on a morning and at night aswel as creatine before i start the weights.
i was quite chubby with a bit of a belly but now im trying to get some defenition. my arms and chest have improved a bit but ive been looking at superdrol and other supplements.
what am i doing wrong and should i take any supplements?

Supplements are exactly that, supplements added to a decent diet. They are helpful if your on the move and dont have time to eat but I do use supplements quite a few as it happens as Im away from home from 730am too 730pm. I quite like the range from CNP and there are so many to choose from. All in all out there there will be hundreds of different recommendations. As for your training, by the looks of things you are only training arms, chest and abs, this is what you always here of as people all want a big chest, arms and a decent six pack. You need to train your other body parts to progress, back, triceps, shoulders and legs. i suppose it depends what your goals are. What are you goals and what does your current diet consist of.

to be honest mate, my diet is a joke, mainly because i dont like meat or fish. mainly pasta, jackets, cereals etc. my goal is to build muscle all over, mainly my upper body. because of me losing the weight i looked skinny until i started the weights, i look a bit bigger now but still dont have real defenition. is there any supplements i should take to cover for meat or fish? and are superdrol a good option? thanks for your advice

Eat 5-6 meals a day consisting of protein and carbs. Eat fruit, veg and healthy fats throughout the day.

If you can't eat a food meal make a shake out of whey, powderd oats and milk (buy off myprotein).

Forget superdrol. Its a steroid. Not something for you to take considering the comments you have made about your diet and training.

Do a routine consisting mainly of compound movements but with some isolation.

Chest/Biceps - Flat bench, Incline bench, Flies, Barbell curl
Back/Triceps - Deadlifts, Wide pull ups, Barbell rows, Skullcrushers
Legs/Shoulders - Squats, Lunges, Calf Raises, Dumbell press, Millitary press

Obviously if you train at home you are limited by the equipment you have, but I have tried to include exercises that you can do with barbells and dumbells. Get yourself a chin up bar to stick in your doorframe.

Alternatively, join a gym.

If you dont eat meat or fish I think you will struggle to get in the protein you need. There are 1000s of supplements out there. Have a look on the CNPProfessional website, browse the products and if you need any questions answering ask Kerry Kayes on the forum, Im sure they will help you as much as they helped me !!
