Emigrating - 08 July 2008 22:13
Would you ever consider it ?

Since this country has a high cost of living and is getting more and more crowded.

Definitely and the first thing that I am going to do when I win the lottery, have dreamt of it everyday for last couple of years.. This country is the pits, I feel extremely sorry for our elders who fought for it..

Find that hard to beleive. I have had a couple of friends over there who moved from her and are having the time of there lives, compare it to pure bliss..

Had a friend who is in America who has his own business, bit I would never go nowhere near that sh1te place of a hole..

Why do you need to win the lottery to emigrate? And yes, there is more voilant crime in Aussie than the UK.

I did.
I'm from Australia originally (with a Scottish father, so I can come and go as I please.)

I've lived in the US & Switzerland in the last 4 years and the UK from 2001-2004- returned to the UK in November 07.
Love living in the UK- I'd never go back to Australia or live anywhere else.

RE: Emigrating - 08 July 2008 23:05
absolutely yes!!!

life is far to short to waste in one place i think!

I SO wish i could win the lottery and have houses all over the world!

Am off to South Africa next month for a short while to have a little explore, spend time with a certain someone, visit friends and meet up with some people who have offered me work.

I also plan to go to Australia sometime in the next 6-12 months for a visit as my dad lives there.

All I can say is I wish I had done all this sooner but its never too late to get out and see the world.

Am not sure how I will get round all the visa stuff yet but if I can manage it yes, I would dearly love to move abroad permenantly.

Both excellent choices if you're seeking to escape costly living and over-crowding.

So, which is more likely winning the lottery or you saving for a couple of years? Given it's been you dream for the last couple of years I assume you already have some of the money saved Your tying of it to a lottery win is a simple way for you never to have to actually do it.

Emigrating is easy, millions do it every year without a lottery win.

It helps if you have a skill that the countries require. If you don't then you don't have any chance.

Unless you have money.

Im considering it, I have family in canada so I could stay with them while I set myself up.

My parents both think its a good idea while im young, only problem is money. So I was thinking maybe doing a pgce over here then moving over there to teach, would this be feasible? Does anyone know how exactly you would go about it and sort of money involved?

Then get the skills you require, work in the industry that will take you where you want to go.

Most I have ever saved is £750 for a car I needed, actually I was on monthly pay at the time so technically not saved..

More likely is winning the lottery for sure for me... Well unless twenty grand comes into my pocket somehow..
