Really take my hat off to those who compete or go all the way, all ive done is lower my carbs, eat strictly clean and do cardio every other day and im struggling big time, at times its not too bad, but when i go on extended periods on low carbs this combined with trainign hard my head goes foggy and cant even think straight, i carb load for two days and im happy as a bunny and energetic again feel like i was reborn. Just watching tv now and cant stop thinking about carbs, nice warm loaf of bread with butter, a pecan slice, cheese cake...etc just a few random pics that flash right before me....a shake shuts me up enuff to manage to sleep. only 5 more weeks to go of this rant over

Looking good there fella, would i balls be cutting if i was that condition The early stages of dieting are quite enjoyable, but the later stages i can imagine are complete torture, i have a lot of respect for anyone who goes very low, and even more so if they hit the stage.

You're looking terrific Alan, so whatever the torture, it's clearly paying off. I totally agree about the carbohydrate fantasies. Especially at bedtime; my head is suffused with floating images of sourdough bread, carbonara, Twixes chilled in the fridge, cheese-and-crisp sandwiches, more crisps, Victoria sponge, spring rolls, toast and jam, toast and ham, toast and yam, toast and Edam, more crisps...
Ten thousand glorious years.

I found that my sense of smell is more prominent, well food oriented anyway, i can smell pasties and burgers a mile away.I havent drastically cut down on carbs, as im still taking in between 120 to 200 on low cabr days, will atick at this for another 10 days and if i havent reached the level im aiming im going lower on carbs and thats gona get tough.

Low carb has your brain trying to run on glucose AND ketone bodies, which equals the foggy zone. Zero carb gets you into ketosis quickly and there's only one or two days of brain fog. After that, it's plain sailing. Cravings are also dramatically LESS on a keto diet than a low carb one.

ORIGINAL: Malika Very nice! How old are you if you don't mind asking? 29....30 in November, part of the reason why im going all out this summer as everytime i cut, as soon as i get a half decent set of abs i call it a day....im trying to take it further this time around...or atleast see how much i can handle and more then anything im using it as a learning curb.
