What do you eat it with? Do you cook it? Or put it in the george foreman? At the moment I eat it cold with balsamic vinegar, going to see what its like in the george foreman though.

I mix a tin up with some low fat salad cream, onion, black pepper and cider vinegar. Fresh smoked mackeral is my fav though.

Lidl and Aldi do this at 49p a can, compared to around 60p at Tesco and Sainsbury. I keep tins in the car for when I am working and have with oatcakes :) They come with tomato sauce. I think the Ocean Sea brand is fav, it has a nice flavoursome spicy tomato sauce. It's a winner! DD

Fresh smoked mackerel is reasonably cheap I think, do you not like it? I don't like the tinned stuff.

I would probably gag if I were to eat tinned mackrel. Just can't stomach it. However, I absolutely love the smoked mackrel that is in the vacuum sealed packets that is ready to eat and has the skin on the underside

Have this everday on my 10 o clock break. Mackeral in tomato sauce, or spicy tomato straight out the tin with oatcakes...

I usually get the Mackerel in tomato sauce (or spicy tomato) and just eat it straight out of the tin. Its actually quite nice (although can also be quite salty).

I try and eat the tinned mackerel in tomatoe sauce every night before bed with a pint of milk to wash it down. I can only eat the princes ones though, even the John West are mingin'... Might try fresh smoked mackerel. How much is it and how long does it keep?

ORIGINAL: RedHotF Fresh smoked mackerel is reasonably cheap I think, do you not like it? I don't like the tinned stuff. If fresh smoked mackerel is reasonably cheap, tinned mackerel is rediculously cheap! I would eat salmon or haddock if I was going to get any fresh stuff, but considering I go through a can of mackerel a day i'd be a wee bit skint.

All tinned fish is already cooked so you only need to heat it up (or eat it cold). You can have it on toast or with salad or just eat it straight out of the tin.
