Steady State CV After Weights Session? - 11 July 2008 09:36
Im currently bulking, but finding my stomach is starting to look a lil huge (and starting to lose my abs ). I know while bulking that im going to put on fat but i'd rather keep it in check soo....

Is it ok to do around 45 mins of SSCV after doing my weights session 3 times a week? normally after weights i take a whey + dex shake, is it ok to take this after i've done the SSCV.

Im on holidays from college so have the time to add in some cardio so im thinking i mgiht aswell, my aim for doing this is to still add muscle mass, while losing or maintaining body fat.

I wouldn't do that much cardio after a weights session. Yes do 10-15 minutes light cardio to get rid of some of the lactic acid but personally I wouldn't do any more than that. Possibly do cardio on a seperate day but if you're bulking you don't wanna burn to many calories.

This is obviously IMO.

Why not, im not really bothered about how many cals are burned, im more bothered about the fat burning, i probably still get enough cals to gain mass.

I guess my question is can i burn fat while still being able to gain weight, i know the answer is yes, but would adding cardio after sessions do this?

The answer in most cases will be no.

If you are bulking and your diet takes into account the extra work then I do not think it would.

You are bulking, correct? You are consuming more calories than your maintenance level, so you will put weight on. You will not magically burn away bodyfat when you hop onto the treadmill, no matter how much some people want to believe it.

so in the rare cases, how does one gain muscle and lose bodyfat at the same time? jus out of interest.

also how would adding 45 minutes of SSCV 3 times a week effect my bodyfat %? it must effect it some way. weather its just maintaining it while bulking.

Chemical assistance or at the very early stages of their training life.

It may compensate for your over-indulgence of calories.

It could reduce your BF% but not reduce overall volume of bodyfat.

You already answered most of your own questions:

when bulking you are bound to put on some body fat, the stomach is the first place it goes on and the last place it will come of, after he has bulked to the size/weight he wants then he should go on a cut to reduce his body fat, which will make him looked toned/ripped.

before training i had the flatest stomach ever, but now i have a bit of one, due to fat and always having alot of food inside me
