You need to be in top condition. Wouldn't bother with any weights. Beast the bw exercises that are in the 1st fitness test, do loads of interval running and sprint stuff, and add in the odd long cross country run. Remember you'll be doing nothing fresh! So whatever no of push ups etc you think you need to do to pass you need to be able to do more! I speak as somone who has failed the test and did so mainly because i was a twat and didn't drop the weight training and weight training mentallity soon enough. The worst part was the 'log' work they did on the 2nd day, before the assault course stuff and tests. The endurance run was in the afternoon after that.

Being ex forces myself i would forget the gym at this stage, i would run, run, and do more running, hill work is a must also do alot of press ups and sit ups and throw in the odd cross country run in too. Do the main part of your running on the sports fields to avold shin splints and remember to swim twice aweek,i would not worry to much about being super human has the training team we bring up to speed, but it does help if you have a good foundation to build upon. Good luck mate in your career.

Also, make sure you research the job properly.. You won't be doing a PRMC or 32 weeks of training to be an officer.

Ive not got any experience personally, but from things ive heard from various people, running is THE thing you need to worry about. Other than that anything you can think of 2 toughen up your feet etc to try and reduce the blisters. Also try and get out into some of the areas you ll be tested in. Arent some of the tests done on Dartmoor?

Well i got medically discharged from the Marines last year coz i hurt my back, Alot better now thanks. All i would say is get used to doing Situps/ Pushups/ Pull ups and alot of running, long distance and sprints. pre the PRMC i could only do 30 pushup, 20 situps and about 5 pullups During the PRMC i managed 80 Situps, 15 pull ups and 70 Push ups and managed to get to 14.2 on the bleep test and did 1.5 miles in 9.5 min. ( This was an good for normal recruit officers need to be able to achieve alot so Work hard mate) As long as you work entirely on you BodyWeight exercise you should be fine. You might want to get a cloth and some meth anddab it on your feet were you get blisters it toughens it up. if you have any question let me know i got to week 25 of 32.... sucks but eh Good luck

running is THE thing you need to worry about. Yes, but if you neglect the calasthenics you won't even make it to the tests where running is needed!
