I personally only ate half a banana after morning cardio when I was cutting. Id recommend cutting fruit drastically.

If your worried about fructose content get some berries down you, less than 10 gms carbs per 100g serving and they trounce staples like apples and bananas for antioxidant capacity by 5 times or more!! I buy frozen blue and rasberries and blend them with my shakes!!
Peace be the Journey!

yeah, a lot of people make the mistake of eating loads of fruit when they cut or diet, not a good plan. you should take in some still but just not that much.

I would also say cut the fruit... One of my mates was taking some tablets which are meant to have all the goodness of fruits in them.. not sure how good they are though.

I never liked the idea of cutting fruit but i suppose it doesn't fit into certain cutting diets.

I'm cutting at the moment and I'm eating a good selection of fruit (grapes, satsumas, bananas, pears, cherry tom's, apples etc.)

Before reading the above comments, I had always thought this was okay (good carbs) to maintain a healthy cut.

Do you guys use vitamin supplements instead?

and

Does it make a big difference in your experience when cutting to not eat fruit?

I think it is individual to everyone - depends on your body.
I prefer to cut bread/fruit/dairy when dieting. Especially because I limit my carbs and adding fruit bumps up the carb intake, limiting the amount of other carbs I can take in. Plus they feel sugary when I eat them - maybe a mental thing.

Ive not eaten druit on a cut, so wouldnt know how well it works with fruit. Im sure it might be fine.

I take the usual vitamins on a daily basis.

Unlike other sugars, fructose is processed by the liver for use in fuelling the brain and so is less likely to be metabolised in a similar way to say glucose.

Fruit in the morning might cause small insulin spike but nothing that drastic.

In order to maintain a balanced, healthy diet I wouldn't drop fruit, especially when during a cut you need all the nutritional help you can get to aid recovery.

Some fruits like bananas and pears I would steer clear of, but appples and berries are cool I reckon.

Interesting fact: berries are not in fact berries. Cucumbers however are.

For me fruit is a treat, a desert.... natures sugary treat.

When i cut, i cut out sugary stuff(candy etc) and find fruit to be very unsatisfying.

Orange or slice of toast? Mmm Toast!
However apples and berries are pretty tasty and low calorie, always room for strawberries mmmMmmm.

I rate veg much more than fruit.
My posts are all my opinion and based on current knowledge/understanding.

There is some very dangerous advice in this topic! I saw the first post and scrolled down and was shocked to see no-one posted anything contradictory!

Mate ignor all of the above. Fruit is good for you - it's an excellent source of vits, mins and soluble fibre aswell as a whole host of anutrients.

Why the fear of carbs? Some people cut on a few hundred grams of carbs per day. Even if you are into the low carb theory, or indeed just trying it, then fruit is still your friend - eat plenty of it.

7-8 servings ofr fruit and veg per day - and you'll struggle to do this on veg alone.

If this is the advice on MT, then I'm very worried

I've been eating about 5 celementines a day at work.

They are rather filling and stop me from craving a snack.

I was hoping they wouldnt be too fattening either.

Depends. If your going to be doing cardio with some intesity then fruit is perfect for pre workout.

I would have thought fruit should be the last thing you cut out! Full of goodness and relativly low calorie for cutting purposes!
