(Self congratulation) deadlift PB

Warning in the title before anybody moans I managed to lift 250 kg this evening, my first real landmark lift this year, and thought as I've never posted a self-congratulatory post that doing so now wouldn't be overly indulgent. PL total is now 585@86 kg. So Yay!

No straps/belt/suit/wraps just jeans, t-shirt, talc and running shoes. Ken... let me get onto those Russians so I can try powerlifting in zero-G as well

Nice work mate, you should get vids of stuff like that. Not for proof btw, id do it just because id be chuffed. To be honest id be over the moon to get to 200 this year as i know it defo wont happen anymore.

ORIGINAL: Red Man Nice work mate, you should get vids of stuff like that. Not for proof btw, id do it just because id be chuffed. To be honest id be over the moon to get to 200 this year as i know it defo wont happen anymore. Given the time of day and that I did it outside you'd struggle to see anything. It'd also be a really boring video for 90% of it as I faff a lot when preparing I should probably try sometime though for a form check. Evad, 122 for 5 is more than most/all trainers squat in gyms I've been to. For motivation today I watched Mark Felix's 400 kg deadlift which makes mine look like a puny warm-up, but in the Youtube comments ( ) people were still posting about other people who lift more. There'll always be someone who can lift more, but the real challenge is beating yourself and the targets you set yourself. At the start of the year I decided I wanted a 600 kg PL total, which given I was a little over 500 at the time was ambitious. I'm now 15 kg away, but even though that feels like a big ask sometimes. It also helps having a little friendly competition - my lifts now match Sivvy's, and DaKensta and just t have 580 kg totals. I doubt I'll win that little contest (in part because I can't seem to gain weight at the moment), but it's great having others to benchmark your progress against. Thanks for the positive comments too

Thanks for the positive comments too and thank you for your nice comment about my squat pal i wouldnt worry about faffing mate, people are not doubting you, some of us (ie me) would love to see a 250kg deadlift as we will never see it first hand i dont usually enter these threads but well done pal

all the more impressive as you didnt use wraps, your grip must be massively strong to do that.

Thanks again guys I hadn't thought about it being 550 lbs either! ORIGINAL: sivvy1 why did u have jeans and talc? nice lifting mate!! I train at home, either in jeans or my old Taekwondo trousers, t-shirt and trainers. I didn't bring the talc to the gym, but it's very cheap for Tesco own brand, seems to do the job and there's enough that we're not likely to run out for a few years yet. Makes for better smelling deadlifting too I should really get a belt or something, perhaps even a suit, but because I've never trained with any powerlifters I wouldn't know what to buy
